Bible Verse: Proverbs 16:20

“He who gives attention to the word will find good,

and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.”

Book Review: Coming Back Stronger

All of us at some point in our lives have faced some kind of trouble. Whether it illness, friends betraying us, loved ones leaving, or financial hardship, we have all faced trouble. Many times it knocks us to the ground.

When these things happen we have two choices, we can either lie on the ground defeated or we can choose to let adversity make us stronger.

This is what NFL New Orleans Quarterback Drew Brees talks about in his book. Coming from a broken home, Drew wanted to be different. He wanted to play football, have a strong marriage, and take a team to the championship. Yet setbacks kept seeming to send him back top square one or did they?

Come along as Drew Bree talks about his amazing journey from a competitive kid growing up in Texas to NFL quarterback with the Saints and a super bowl title.

I was intrigued and fascinated by this book. Normally I like reading light fiction or spiritual books. A football book written by a highly competitive person was defiantly a change. But it was a good change. I loved the book. It reminded me that God uses the hurt, pain, and trouble in our lives for our greater good. I may not always understand why things are happening the way they do, but God will work everything out for my good.

So I may not ever go to a super bowl, but I still know that God will use the seeming setbacks in my life to make me stronger.

Pevonia Organics Spa Teen All Skin Types Review

This line of products was sent to me awhile back and I forgot to post the review of it in the slew of products I have to review. I know naughty me!

I was sent by Pevonia Organics their Spa Teen All Skin Types line of products to review.

My thoughts on the scent, make, and quality:

I loved the berry/fruity scent of this cleanser. It is a really nice smell that I love! I also really like how Pevonia designed the bottles of these 3 products. They are very easy to get the liquid/lotion/soap out of so I was impressed. I was also impressed with the high quality of these products.

Cleanser- This cleanser is very easy to use and is very effective in cleaning my face from dirt, oil, makeup, and acne.

Toner- This toner was very effective after I applied the toner and I haven’t seen another acne spot since I started using this line of products.

Moisturizer- My face feels like baby’s skin after using this product I love how soft and silky my face feels.

My thoughts on how they work:

I really, really, really love this line of products from Pevonia Organics. The way these products work is AMAZING when I used these products I had a breakout from acne and when I used this once a day (the entire line) after two days of use I haven’t had another spot since! I wish I had taken pictures to show you but I didn’t think.

I highly recommend Pevonia Organics and all their great products. You may buy them here.

Pevonia Organics Spa Teen Blemished Skin Review

I was sent by Pevonia Organics their entire Spa Teen Blemished Skin Line to review.

I really, really loved this skin care line. I used their organic Cleanser, Toner, Blemish B- Gone Stick, and Moisturizer one night this week and in the morning when I woke up all acne spots were gone. (with the exception of one scar) So, I was very impressed. I re-applied it again throughout the week and no more acne spots have come back. If you keep using it they’ll stay away so I really like that fact!

This products where very easy to apply the steps are as follows:

1. Place some of the cleanser in between wet hands and rub till the cleanser foams. Apply on the face. Rub in. Work in with wet fingertips. Rinse with warm water. Blot dry.

2. Wipe face and neck with a cotton cloth moist with the toner. Apply after cleansing.

3. Apply the Blemish B-Gone sparingly onto acne break out spots. Massage in well and let dry for 2-3 minutes. Apply after cleansing and toning.

4. Apply the moisturizer to your face and neck after cleansing, applying the toner, and applying blemish b-gone.

5. Enjoy your blemish free skin!

It may take a few hours for the blemishes top disappear but they will disappear within the day.

I cannot say enough good things about Pevonia’s Spa Teen Blemished Skin Line. My skin feels soft, smooth and is acne free! I love that it is organic and that it doesn’t smell like medicine it has a citrusy smell to it. This skin care line is all natural and organic. And contains no bad, nasty, or horrible ingredients! Pevonia Organics Spa Teen Blemished Skin Line has one fault it’s EXPENSIVE! But, it is worth it.

I HIGHLY recommend Pevonia Organics. Please be sure to check them out. They also have a Spa Teen Blemished Skin Organic Facial Mask so be sure to try that!

Please check out Pevonia Organics here. You may buy the Spa Teen’s Blemished Skin Line here.

Product Review: Soap For Goodness Sake

I started using this Almond and Avocado eye balm at night before I went to bed.  It made my eyes feel soft and moist whenever I put it on.  I also began to notice a difference in the dark circles under my eyes.  Every time I put it on, they seemed to diminish.  I’d like to say that you have to watch how much you put on at once.  Too much and your eyes look shiny.  Overall, I enjoyed this product and recommend it to anyone with dark circles and/or sore and dry skin under her eyes.

You may buy this product here for $8.49.

Modest Monday: Striving To Be Modest

Modesty is not just what you wear on the outside it’s what you wear on the inside that counts too. I like to say that it’s all about the heart. You can wear modest clothing and submit to your parents wishes, BUT if you’re heart isn’t in the right place your modest clothing won’t count.

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23 (nlt) I think this verse sums it up quite nicely. In this world today it’s easy to get discouraged and to say “oh, I can’t do this, I’m so tired of getting stared at because I’m dressed modestly” Well you CAN do it! I know trust me, it’s very easy to get discouraged, but dear girls don’t give up! Many times I’ve gotten discouraged because people have made snarky (or looks) comments to me because I dress modestly and I’ve wanted to stop dressing modestly, but just one comment from a kind person thanking me for how I dress is enough to make me want to dress modestly.

There is a line to a song by Newsboys (One Shot is the song by the way) and I think it really fits in with what I am trying to say here:

I’m gonna sing about my God, and it doesn’t matter what’s hot

This can really apply to us Christian young ladies who are striving to be modest, pure, daughters of Christ. We are going to dress modestly, honor God (and our Father’s and future Husband’s) and it doesn’t matter what the latest trend is.

Know I’m not saying that you need to wear sacks all the time. No, I try to dress modestly, yet attractively. We want people to see that we are daughters of a King and daughters of a King are beautiful on the inside AND on the outside!

Onward for Him!

Beauty Tip Monday: Makeup For Teens?

Please note, I’m not bashing young woman who wear makeup, I’m simply giving you some suggestions! So please don’t take offense to this post

As a teen my self, I have worn makeup sometimes, but not alot. The only thing I really wear is lipgloss and lip balm. And that’s it. I have found that using makeup gives me acne so I just keep it simple. My facial routine is usually just washing with a organic cleanser, applying organic facial toner,  applying organic facial moisturizer,  then if I have bags under my eyes I use Lily Organics sensitive facial oil to get rid of them(this works wonders!), and I top all that off with some lip balm and depending the occasion lip gloss. And thats all!

Some teenage girls begin wearing light make-up around the ages of 12-13 as they become more aware of their appearance. As a teen, your make-up should look natural and enhance your facial features. Don’t overdo it, this will only make you look silly. I suggest that younger girls only wear makeup when they are 14+, but this is up to you and your parents. But if you do decide to wear makeup here are some tips:
1. You don’t need to use make-up on every facial feature you have!
2. Wear light tones such as light pink and and perhaps neutral blends.
3. I don’t suggest using blush as a teen nor mascara. Just lipstick and maybe eyeshadow.
4. Remember it is all fine for a woman to wear bright red lipstick, eyeshadow, blush, and mascara, but easy does it for young girls!
5. Also, using alot of makeup can clog your pores and give you acne, so weigh the pros and the cons would I rather have acne and wear blush or should I just forget about the entire thing and not have the acne.
6. It’s a good idea for your mother to help you with your makeup if your parents let you wear makeup, as she knows best!

Whatever your parents decide to let you do, just remember that THEY are in charge and you will always be their daughter but well you are a young girl and living in their house you are required by God to obey them. And always remember that God looks on our hearts and not on whether we are wearing makeup that day.
