Hello, dears!
Recently I’ve been delighted to review some chai tea. I love chai lattes, and I had been really looking forward to this review!
Oregon Chai sent me their Original blend of chai in liquid concentrate form. I had never tried a tea concentrate before; I usually just do tea bags or looseleaf tea with an infuser, so I was interested to try it in a new form. Since I had never worked with that sort of tea before, I followed the instructions on the carton and filled half a cup with milk and filled up the other half with the chai. Then I zapped it in the microwave for a minute, and out popped the easiest, breeziest chai tea ever! Seriously, it’s that easy. No fiddling with scooping powder that gets EVERYWHERE, no mixing out the clumps that don’t quite dissolve…just pour, pour, microwave, TEA. I’m in love.
Aside from being super easy, it’s also delicious. The interesting thing about Oregon Chai is that they claim to have been the first to bring it to the US. Now, I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I do know that their chai is really lovely! The thing that sticks out in my mind about it is that it is really, really smooth. If you like your chai extra bold and spicy, this one might not be for you. But if you want a smoother chai, this one is great. I didn’t find it overly sweet, but a friend of mine did, so I guess you’ll have to decide for yourself on that. But I thought that the flavors were very well balanced: it has the chai hallmark of spice and a nice vanilla sweetness, and neither are overpowering. It makes for a great cup of tea!
Although I only tried The Original, there are a lot of options. Are you vegan? They have a liquid concentrate version of The Original without the honey. Diabetic? They have sugar-free. Want to drink it in the evening? They have caffeine-free, too! I like that they cater to dietary restrictions; that shows they care about their customers. I also like that most of the ingredients on the label are organic. The chai is also available in powder form, if that’s what floats your boat. I really enjoy Oregon Chai’s tea and I do recommend it. You can pick up a carton of the tea I tried for five dollars and change here.
Happy Sipping!
