Reviva Labs Review

I was recently (or actually, not so recently!) asked to review a product from Reviva Labs. I chose the Pomegranate/Lactic Acid Exfoliant. The company sent me the product, and I have used it quite a few times. This was partially the reason that I am so late in getting this review published … I wanted to make sure it worked well :) . (The other reason would be that I went halfway across the world and back this summer, and have been trying to get settled back in!)


I have been quite pleased with this product. It does not produce immediate results, but I have noticed a difference in my skin. The first change was that some of my skin started peeling – I was surprised by that at first! (“Wow! This stuff really does exfoliate!”) I also noticed less scaring from blemishes and less difference in my skin tone … the coloring was more uniform.

The Pomegranate/Lactic Acid Exfoliant features all-natural ingredients. Lactic acid and a complex of plant & herbal extracts remove dead skin; pomegranate, a strong antioxidant, fights future skin damage and peptides, allantoin and soy treat past skin damage. Non-abrasive, each application of the mild, new exfoliant (can be used 3 times weekly), leaves skin looking clearer, brighter and feeling smoother.

Reviva Labs offers a number of other skin care products, and have been in business for 38 years. They were the first to introduce exfoliation to America, with their European Light Skin Peel. Their products are all-natural and are sold in health food stores and skin-care salons worldwide.

I highly recommend that you check out their products … there is such a large variety, that I had a hard time picking which one to review! You can purchase the Pomegranate/Lactic Acid Exfoliant for $19.99.

Denby Review

Have you heard of Denby? I hadn’t, until I had the chance to review a piece for Virtuous Girlhood. Now, as a homemaker and wife, I really, really like dishes, so I absolutely fell in love with their pieces! For the elegant, simple home, a lovely Bone China would be perfect! For the funky, stylish kitchen, I love their Cosmic line of dishware.

For the review, I selected a round casserole dish. I can always use more pretty serving dishes, and the fact that this could not only go in the oven, but the dishwasher and microwave too, was a really nice bonus.

When it arrived, it was packaged with care and consideration. You can rest assured that if you order something from Denby, it will arrive in one piece.

I’ve used this casserole for several purposes – mainly as a serving dish. My children are very independent and I’ve found that when I allow them to serve themselves (even soup!), they tend to eat more. (Tuck that one away for later, young ladies, trust me – it works for my picky eater!)

This also makes a great dish for storing and for reheating – I’m not a huge fan of the microwave, but I did put this in the microwave to reheat soup for my husband. When I took it out (after several minutes), the handles were not hot at all. A lot of times dishes will say “microwave safe” but come out explosively hot – this was not the case with this Denby casserole dish!

It is also dishwasher safe, which is great for me – sometimes I don’t have time to wash all my bigger dishes by hand, and both the lid and casserole fit into the dishwasher perfectly.

I hope to have this dish for many years – it’s clearly made of high quality materials that will stand the test of time. I love having pieces like this, too – it’s not only functional but beautiful as well.

Homemaking Tuesday: Storage Space

We all have more than we can possible fit into the space we have. We try, but many times we have to creatively store things.

When you are storing things it’s important to remember three things.

One, you can fit things in odd places. Just grab a box and stick things under beds, on the floor of a closet, or you can even stack some boxes, cover them with some cloth, and make a decretive table.

Two, keep things organized. I know I have said it before, but I’ll say it again, keeping things organized will save you huge headaches when you go to find things. Even if you just sort things according to kind (aka decorative items, Christmas, craft supplies).

Three, keep lists of where you have things. It’s easy to forget where you put things. Make sure to make lists so that you can easily remember where things are.

So now you have heard my thoughts on every room in the house. I hope you have been in encouraged and inspired to make your home just a little cheerier. I know I have.

I WANT These Dresses

Okay, okay, okay, before you scold me. Just take a look at these adorable dresses that I am currently drooling over. They need to come live in my closet! (hehehe) Of course, some of these would have to be worn with a cardigan/layered and I would fix the halter neck dresses to make them non-halter necked, but other then that I want and I love them!

Rambles From My Heart: Relationship With God

We serve an amazing God. He came down, died, and rose again. He has done so much. To what end? Why did He who endured the cross and rose again, love us completely even with all our failings? He desires relationship. God doesn’t want robots, He wants sons. God doesn’t want slaves, He wants saints. He wants children who know the heart of their Father.

But relationship is hard. It’s easier to follow a set of rules and do’s and don’ts than it is to live in a relationship with someone. We can spend our whole lives chasing after the rules and never come close to the heart of God.

When God came down to earth, He came down to live, to be with us, to form a relationship with us. His greatest wish is to love us into a relationship that will last into eternity. What a gift! We get to enjoy fellowship with God everyday of our lives. No matter where we go or what we do, God is right there with us closer than any friend to help and guide or simply be the presence that we need.

Once we are in a relationship with Him, rules become important. When you are walking with Him, you know what is right and wrong. Every minute of the day you will have a chance to love and serve Him more. You will be able to relax into His love and let Him carry you through everything that comes.

Do you want this kind of relationship with your Heavenly Father? Ask Him. Stop whatever you are doing and ask Him to make this real in your heart. He longs to become the best friend you have ever known. Just open yourself up and let Him fill you.

I was recently contacted by The Rockport Shoe Company (a division of adidas) and they asked me to do a review and giveaway. Naturally I agreed. I was able to choose from three adorable shoes. I chose the Zana sneakers only because my sneakers are wearing out.

These three new shoes are part of Rockport’s Sasha Collection. This collection offers adiPRENE technology which is a highly shock-absorbent cushioning protecting the heel at impact, and also features breathable Polyurethane cushioning that is odor resistant and moisture absorbent leaving the foot dry and comfortable. Pretty cool huh?

My review:

My family has LONG since been huge fans of adidas. My dad and mom have always gotten adidas sneakers, and since The Rockport Shoe Company is owned by adidas I was expecting them to be a great pair of sneakers and these shoes met my expectations!  I am really impressed by the quality of them! They are very well made! I am also impressed with how comfy they are.

However, I do wish that these sneakers where white instead of grey, but that’s ok. They will work! ;) That’s just my personal preference. I”m also dying to get the Katrina boot. They are totally adorable!

Homemaking Tuesday: The Dining Room

Eating is something that a family should do together every day. The dining room is a place where the family comes together, eats, and talks.

For this reason make it simply yet inviting. Try to always spread the table with a tablecloth. One thing that we like to do is cover the tablecloth with clear plastic. This helps keep the tablecloth looking nice, but it also makes cleaning easier.

For a center piece you can do some fresh flowers or maybe a nice figurine, or my personal favorite dessert.

Even this simple room you can spruce up and make into a happy place for your family.
