He Switched Lanes!

August 24th, 2008

(On a side note, Noah is now crawling and sitting up. This incident happened the first of June.) :O

JA was on the floor with Noah when Noah turned around; JA exclaimed, “He switched lanes!” And when Noah turned around again, JA said excitedly, “He switched lanes again, Mommy!”

Too cute!

Hope that gives you a laugh!

Beattys Farm

August 6th, 2008

(On a side note, this post is a LITTLE bit late! Enjoy! :O)

On Monday we went down to the Beatty’s farm! We had a lot of fun……..swimming in their pool, picking veggies and some apples, walking down to their stream,  and visiting the nearby forest preserve, holding some kitties and their little chicks! It was a fun day! By the end of the day, I know A, JA, JR, and Noah were all too glad to take a bath and bed down for the night!

Here are some funnies of the day!

“But if I hold them, what if I drop one and the dogs eat them?” Spoken by N to Miss Dawn about the little chickens.

The girls were leaning on the edge of the pool and whoosh! Water and two girls came out! :) It was too funny! Too bad no photos or videos were taken! The look on their faces……….

You can see pictures of our day here! At Miss Dawn’s BLOG.

Thanks Miss Dawn, Mr. Beatty, and Mrs. Beatty for a FUN day!

Blessings,

R.J.

Ice Cream And Construction Site

July 18th, 2008

Mom and Dad decided to treat us to icecream at the McDonald’s right behind our subdivision.  After we ate our treat, Mom and Dad said we could ride around on our bikes in a field that had been plowed by bulldozers. JR thought that was fun! (I am sure any 6 1/2 year old boy would!) But it was kind of hard to ride on. They have built a Walgreen’s (that is doing quite well) and are now building an Auto Zone & Ace Hardware. I do not know why they are building those things when we have 2 hardware places and 2 auto places in Wauconda! Makes no sense to me……. Then Mom and Dad let us drive down a big, big, big (dirt) hill. And, yes, I did it, to. It was quite fun! (grin) Just JA did not do it. But he walked on it.

Well, reading time awaits me,

R.J.

How Hard Is It???

July 9th, 2008
  • How hard is it to eat a brownie with an almost 5 month old trying to eat it??
  • How hard is it to take a shower with a two year old threatening to pull the curtain down (that has been known to fall down while the boys have been in the tub) while she is on the potty?
  • How hard is it to cook, keep the 5 year old out of the sugar plus watch a two year old who’s trying to steal a cookie???
  • How hard is it to shuck corn while the 5 year old and 2 year old are eating it????
  • How hard is it to hang out laundry while the two year old and 5 year old are sneaking outside??
  • How hard is it to get a grumpy two year old dressed and and her hair done?
  • How hard is it to keep a hungry 6 year old boy from asking the question: “When is supper going to be ready?” and without blowing your top???
  • How hard is it to keep your room clean when there are four people living in your room who think your desk & dresser are catch-alls??
  • How hard is it to keep the dishes out of the sink when you have almost 100+ dishes per day for a family of nine??

The answer to all these is: Drum roll, please…..

VERY HARD!

Hope that brings a :) to your day!

Keep looking up,

H.H,

R.J.

P.S. All of this is true!! ;)

Funny Letter, Toe Toothbrush, & Dolly General

June 20th, 2008

Well, on Monday, A was brushing her teeth. When she got tired of that, she walked over to J and brushed his dirty toes (he hadn’t had his bath yet) and put the toothbrush back in her mouth! LOL! What does that say about a two year old! ;0

Dolly General is a story about N when she was 5+. She was listening to our conversation about Dollar General…and said,”We are going to Dolly General???” Now, that says how much a 5-year old LOVES dolls! (It’s an old funny, by the way) :O

This letter was written by N (who, by the way, has the most funnies of all of us); she wrote this awhile ago just to be funny! Here it is:

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Vshx,

Oh, yes, would you like to give gold to us? Beware of the dog.

XX Us ,

Done!

Mom and I laughed!!!

Better go,

R.J.

P.S. Kathryn, your letter seal on B’s letter was beautiful!

The N Version

March 28th, 2008

With permission I share the following:

Yesterday morning N was reading the Bible; here is what she read:

“Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee: he shall never stuffed animal the righteous to be moved.” ( It should have been suffer!!!!!!!!!!) She was reading Psalm 55:22. Mom and Dad looked at each other and chuckled, “Stuffed animals?” Then B helped her with the word and we all enjoyed the humor of N’s guessing in her reading practice.

Oh and today it was Psalm 57:1:

” Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these carnival be past.” She meant calamities this time!!!! It is like our daily dose of laughter at the breakfast table. ;)

And A was helping me put the tupperware away and she walked in the room to mommy and said ” I help put pupper away!” Don’t children come out with the cutest things!

Well, I had better go; we have a lot to do in preparation for Liberty Day.

H.H.

P.S. Hope that brings a smile to your face :)

Pool Fun!

November 30th, 1999

We got a pool sometime around the first of June at ALDI. It’s just one of those blow-up ones. But, it is so much fun!!!! Over the years, the children have made up some games. Some of them are:

Mary and Laura: They are wading in the pool, then they fall in and have to swim against the current. (It was B’s idea back when she was 6!)

Queen and Clowns: The queen is lounging on the side of the pool and the clowns (who get too foolish) make “Her Majesty” fall in! (N’s idea when she was 7. )

Bounce! (A game they like to play when I am lounging!) A person is lying on the side of the pool when two (or more!) people sneak up and bounce them off! (This was JR’s idea this year.)

These are some of their favorites besides jumping, just plain swimming, and playing ball. The one thing is that there are these Japanese Beetles that sometimes get in our hair (and our clothes and the pool.) YYUUCCKK!! There are less of them now. Thankfully we planted garlic this year so they have not bothered our garden! (Sigh of relief)

Have a blessed day!

His Handmaiden,

R.J.
