Book Review: Tampering With Temptation
Tampering with Temptation by Various Authors (a Grace And Truth Book)
The first story in this wonderful little book is called “Young Martin and the Silver Sixpence.” It is about Martin, a young boy, who learns that “the finder’s keepers” rule may work for some things, but not for all; and that stealing and cheating in little things leads to stealing and cheating in bigger things.
The second story is called “Farmer Goodwin’s Rule.” It is about bad friendships and how they can start to ruin even the most carefully trained child. You will follow young Randy as he makes friends with Larry and Scott. Larry is the kind of friend that you want and urges Randy not to follow Scott, but Scott urges and name-calls till Randy agrees and follows Scott into sin.
The third and final story is called “Albert and Herbert.” It is about two boys from strict religious families who go to a boarding school and become friends with one another. At that good christian school there are boys who mock the teachers, swear and do wicked things behind the teachers’ backs. Herbert falls into their clutches and is very sorry to have listened to them. One day, Albert finds out about it and urges him to get away from them. Herbert wants to but does not, for the boys are already teasing him and calling him a coward. Albert, however, is very sad about his friend’s choices. He grows up to be successful young man and blesses his godly parents. But poor Herbert, the fool, grows up to be a drunkard, swearing, ungodly gambler and young man. This story also deals with peer pressure. It is a must read for any struggling young man or woman, boy or girl, and any struggling family! I give this book 5 out of 5.
Have a great day!
Blessings,

You are Emma Woodhouse of Emma! You like being the queen of your social circle (small and provincial as it may be), and feel it’s your duty to help those less influential than you. You often meddle in the affairs of others, though you do it with a pure heart. You are often deluded in your flights of fancy, but your good intentions and creative spirit make you someone anyone could like.
