The Swing
The Swing
by Robert Louis Stevenson
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
A child will ever do!
Up in the air and over a wall
Till I can see so wide
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside
Till I look down on the garden green
Down on the roof so brown
Up in the air I go flying again
Up in the air and down.
Even as a young woman I have ALWAYS liked this poem! ![]()
Family Life
Family Life by Kelci Marie Phelan
Friends I need and friends I have,
To encourage, help and love,
To point me ever upward,
To my glorious home above,
Friends are flowers, so they say,
But what about families, too?
Don’t family members help us,
To grow in what we say and do?
Friends are important, yes,
But families, better still,
They help greatly to weed out,
The private wants and will.
Our fathers guide and protect,
Our sisters love and care,
Our brothers help and encourage,
Our mothers are always there,
Oh! The joys of a family,
Are often too deep to tell,
The simplicities and the trials,
The hugs that love spells,
Gratitude for friends,
Is a blessing in itself,
But, oh, the joys of family life,
Are an everlasting wealth!

Count It All Joy
Do you have trouble counting it all joy? I do! I just finished listening to this Odyssey. HERE Even though we do not agree with everything presented, it certainly is a reminder to COUNT IT ALL JOY!
Just thought I would give you a reminder to count it all joy, even when:
Brothers are teasing,
Sisters are whining,
Babies are screaming,
Mother is telling you a million things to do,
Father needs help in setting the table,
Grandma needs someone to help her weed,
Grandpa wants a batch of cookies,
And your school is piling up to mountains,
Your Aunt wants you to help her babysit,
Your cousins want you to go swimming on Friday,
Your uncle wants a cherry pie,
On top of all that, you are a week behind on your quiet time!
So, girls, you might want to consider stopping and praying, and asking the Lord for help!
Amen!
Well, I hope you enjoy listening to the “episode” and reading my poem!
Please drop me a line to tell me what you think!
Blessing,
His Handmaiden,
R.J.

A Young Girl’s Life
A Young Girl’s Life
A young girl’s life is like a rose,
When she is a child, she is a bud;
She must be trained in the ways of the Lord,
So she will become a godly woman,
For once she’s grown, she’ll be a rose in bloom.
She must keep herself pure for her future spouse,
Growing more in the knowledge of the Lord
Each and every day,
And also studying to become
A Proverbs 31 maiden,
So her inward beauty will never fade!

Noah Is Our Little Doll!
Noah is so cute and sweet,
Just like a little doll!
His eyes so blue and hair so golden,
Just like a little doll!
He loves to be held and cuddled up,
Just like a little doll!
He likes to look around and see what is going on
Just like a little doll!
He sleeps so peacefully and sweetly,
Just like a little doll!
He likes to be wrapped up closely,
Just like a little doll!
Life is fun with our little cutie,
Who is just like a little doll!

Sisters
Sometimes I think sisters are a pain,
They leave their things all over the place!
Books on the dresser, math on the chair,
Clothes dangling upside down from the closet,
Dolls on my bed…that I just cleaned off!
Little sis in my hand-cream that cost me a fortune!
These as are just a few very good reasons
To think Sisters are a pain!
But, I must not think this way at all,
It’s absolutely not God’s thinking,
So, I must have right thinking or I am in trouble!
That is why I must try my hardest to be,
A virtuous girl, my Daddy’s daughter and His Handmaiden,
For little sisters are a blessing from God,
Sent to teach me!

They Are Brothers. NOT Bothers!
They Are Brothers, NOT Bothers!
Do you have brothers?
Do you think they are bothers?
Well, they are not bothers,
They are brothers!
Sometimes they’ll bug us.
And most often tease us,
But we ought to count it all joy!
We ought to be kind and gentle,
And take it all with a smile,
While ruffling their hair
And saying, “I love you!”
Then they’ll stop the bugging and teasing!
Now I have to learn this lesson as well,
For I have brothers like you,
It’s a hard thing to learn,
So let’s learn it!
