What I’ve Been Up To
I suppose you’ve all been wondering what I have been up to for the last three months. Mom was on Craigslist and she saw an ad for barn work, and she replied to it. We had an interview and were hired! It was a barter agreement - barn work in exchange for private riding lessons. It was quite fun! We had started out doing evenings but switched to mornings. We learned a lot. We learned how to take care of horses, feeding, haltering, taking them out, grooming, but best of all, riding!
Oh, and learning how to get up in the morning when I don’t usually like to!
Then the barn manager started having trouble with the owner, so they moved and we had to leave the barn, too. Oh well! It was a good experience. I rode the most wonderful horse! She was the best mare! She was a 5 year old lesson horse. Her name was Lacy. I enjoyed learning to ride. I miss working at the barn.
Working at the barn took about 2 hours out of our mornings, 4 days a week, plus lesson day. So it kept me busy. That is why this blog has been so quiet.
Enjoy your day!

This past week I have been reading: A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart: By Elizabeth George. It is very good, and I have been enjoying it very much! Mrs. George talks about:
- Being devoted To God
- A Heart That Loves God’s Word
- Prayer
- Obedience
- Submitting
- Loving
- Caring
- Choosing Friends
- Loyalty
- Servanthood
- Purity
And much more! She lists many Bible verses, and many things that will help you grow in godliness. She is such a good author and uses the Bible for examples. If you have not read this book, then be encouraged to do so! So get your pen and paper, your Bible, and a heart that is willing to learn and get ready to go on an adventure!
You can order Mrs. George’s book at the following places:
Harvest House Publishers: Here
All three of her books were really good! I have not yet read A Young Woman Guide To Making Right Choices.
Happy reading!
