Mixing Prints in Rain -One Skirt Three Days

This is the final day of the challenge. You can see the other girls outfits here. I almost forget about it and by the time I remember one of the kids announced that it was raining so I got dressed and ran outside with my faithful photographer. (aka sis) None of these pictures are flattering at all, but we were being soaked in the rain so I just told her to click click click and hope that they turn out!

Today I was just going to wear the blouse and skirt, but decided it was boring. So I mixed prints and added the tank. I kind of like how it turned out even if some of you might think that it is weird. :)

Ignore my hair. It was a bad hair day today.

What I Wore-

Blouse- Walmart ($8??)
Tank- Random
Skirt- Random
Shoes- Shoe Dazzle
Necklace- Fantasy Jewelry Box

Black With a Hint of Pink-One Skirt Three Days

Day three of the one skirt three day challenge. :) You can view the other girls outfits here. Today’s outfit was actually shot yesterday *shh*, I spent most of today training Padfoot and just hanging out with the family.

Noah wanted to get into the pictures with me so I let him. Isn’t he adorable? I haven’t worn this outfit and skirt together before because I feel like it isn’t very flattering, but oh well it’s comfortable and cute so I don’t mind. :) And you can’t really see the pink shoes because our grass is so long, but I *do* have pink in this outfit. ;)

I am the type of person who likes to be behind the camera, so ignore my awkward posing. :D Thanks N for the photos!

What I Wore-

Skirt- Random
Shirt- Walmart ($5)
Necklace- Fantasy Jewelry Box
Flip Flops- Neuaura

Nautical Stripes-One Skirt Three Days

Soo, Ashley, Natasha, and Olivia are doing a one skirt three days challenge. I decided to join since it has been forever since I did one of these. ;)

Yeah, I have big hair

The minute I saw this challenge I knew exactly what skirt I was going to use. My favorite black maxi skirt. So for the next three days I will be styling this skirt three different ways.

I am lazy. So I’m not wearing any makeup here (surprised?) and my hair is just curled with my Amika Styling Wand. I like this outfit because it is easy and like I have said before, I am busy er lazy and like easy!

It was horribly windy today so my hair and skirt were all over the place. Thanks N for taking the photos for me. :)

What I Wore-

Shirt- Gaiam

Belt/Skirt- Random

Shoes-  Neuaura

I liveeeeeee!!!!!!!! (An outfit post with a weird title)

The title of this post is from Mulan and it has nothing to do with this post. Nothing. This is just a random outfit post. :)

I love comfy. If you haven’t noticed I live on a farm and I like easy. Plus I am a tomboy and jeans just work better for my life-style. BUT just because I love my jeans doesn’t mean that I dress like a frump. So here is my attempt at styling rolled up jeans to create boyfriend jeans.

Have I mentioned how much I love living in the country? I mean I LOVE the city too, but the country is awesome for photo opps! Plus all the shrubs and “stuff”? Perfection. :D

I was pretending to dance with the post. What? You’ve never done that? Come on, it is FUN to dance with random objects for no reason. :D

Clothing-

Shirt- Gaiam
Hat- Thrifted
Sunglasses- ??
Belt- From another dress
Jeans- Thrifted. I rolled them up to make boyfriend jeans.
Shoes- None. :D

Thanks sis for the pictures!

Cookie Cutters

This week’s outfit is weird. I just threw a bunch of random things together in order to make this outfit. Weird, but I like it. Alot of my outfits are actually random stuff just thrown together though…… This outfit doesn’t really go together, but that’s the whole point as I will explain at the bottom of my post. :)

Too bad my white cardi blends in with the snow. :P

Isn’t this necklace the cutest thing ever ??? :)

Everything that I am wearing is from random places. :) Mostly online stores that I can’t remember the names to.

Why the title of this post and why the weird outfit? Because, I’ve been thinking about cookie cutters lately. And I am glad that I’m not a cookie cutter homeschooler or a cookie cutter teenage either. I’m me. And even though people think I’m crazy, I take it as a compliment. I’m not like everyone else. I’m different. And sometimes being different is a good thing right????

Being crazy is what makes me unique. And like a guy friend told me- “If people think that you are crazy don’t be offended, it’s their fault for not being crazy with you.” And as Johnny Depp said “All the best people are mad” And it’s true, all the best people ARE crazy! :)

That’s what this post is for. It’s to symbolize stepping out of the mold/flow/box/whatever and just being YOU. Don’t be scared to be different. Sometimes that’s a good thing. The world would be a pretty boring place if everyone dressed and acted like everyone else. So just be you.

Roses are Pink

My little sis took the photos for me. Thanks Louise you did a great job! These photos are unedited.

Today’s outfit may be liked by some and the rest of you may hate it. It’s up to you. Me? I love this outfit. I’m typically in jeans and a tee, but I was sick of them so I pulled this cute dress out of my closet and added a cardi, boots, and leggings to “winterize it”. I like the finished look.

What the dress looks like without the cardigan in the way. I would have taken it off, but it was FREEZING and below 10F.

If I had taken this shot I would have fixed my cardi, but oh well. :)

Le necklace (These final two where taken by yours truly. Don’t ask how I did it. It’s kind of hard to explain. :) )

And a final closeup……

What I Wore-

I really have no idea where the clothing came from. Most of my clothing is thrifted unless it comes from Kohl’s or Walmart. The leggings are from Walmart though. :)
Boots- Naturalizer
Necklace- Shabby Apple

Maxi in The Snow

I’m sort of into the whole “hipster” look. I don’t think I accomplished it in this look, but I sort of like the look. :) It’s weird, but I like it. Unfortunately I packed away **smacking my forehead here** all of my summer clothes, so I worked with what I had. I was inspired by this beautiful gal’s outfit so I tried to re-create my own look.

What I Wore-

Black Maxi- DeLacy Collection
Sweater/Cardi- Random store
Scarf- Random store
Boots that you can’t see- Naturalizer

What do you think of this look? Is it a mess or cute?

Thanks sis for taking the pictures!

Because I’m Cool Like That

It is a blah day and I was tired of jeans and yoga pants. And I wanted to feel pretty. So  I curled my hair, put on a skirt, and some heels and felt like a princess. (To all you girls sitting in jeans like me, you should try this sometime! ) I then decided to run outside and get my sis to snap some pictures. And this is the result. Because I’m cool er silly like that. :D

**Warning, you are about to see my personality. My bubbly/silly side that no one besides my close friends and family sees. Don’t say that I didn’t warn you.** :D

I warned you……

Don’t judge, I told you I was crazy.

However, the wind was against us. Not only did my curls turn into a big mess, but several photos turned into a  ”Marilyn” white dress moment. And it’s also one of the reasons that I prefer pants otherwise my skirts whip up….

I dance my way through life and when I fall, I pick myself back up.

Ignore my hair and the rolled up tank underneath. I need to chop all the hair off and I should have fixed that tank. I just wanted to show you one of my favorite necklaces. It reminds me to dream big and to believe. Don’t ask why, it just does. ;) And I can’t believe that I just posted these  crazy photos….

What I Wore-

Skirt- Thrifted
Shirt- Thrifted
Tank-Someplace
Necklace/Ring- Fantasy Jewelry Box
Boots- Thrifted
Tights- Forever21

My sister and I stood out in the cold and took these photos, so don’t steal. I don’t like thieves, and these photos are un-edited and mine.

Boho Style (Sort of)

I stopped posting outfits simply because I feel like I have an inadequate sense of style and it just feels weird. But quite a few readers have commented and asked for them back, so I guess I’ll attempt it again. :)

I always go through the pictures and I catch glimpses of what I would have done differently if I had been shooting the photos. And I can think of a TON of things that are wrong with these photos, but here goes, I’ll try to do a outfit once a week or so for you all. :)

*******

This week I attempted boho style with jeans . I love the hipster/boho look. All that I needed was a feather headband, sandals, and an oversized bag and I have the look. It was too cold for that though, so I went with the WARM boho style. :)

My boots and accessories…….

What I wore-

Jeans- Macy’s
Shirt- Kohl’s
Jewelry- Necklace Shabby Apple, bracelet random.
Boots- Vintage, they where my great-grandmother’s.

All photos are un-editied and are mine so don’t steal. ;)

Modesty and Summer

Summer is the hottest season of the year! But being hot is no reason to dress immodestly!  So what’s a girl to do? Easy…….:)

Disclaimer- I do NOT agree with all of the featured websites. If you don’t like that I featured them, then please x out my blog! Thank you! :D

Wear Maxi Dresses/Skirts-

#1- Downeast Basics

Maxi skirts/dresses are normally sold in cool light fabrics for summer. Plus they are really modest! Although- you might want to wear a slip beneath them as they can be see-through.  Plus, you can find them at most stores and they are affordable!

Layer, Layer, Layer-

Layering can be hot, but you can easily solve that by layering with cami’s and tanks. I highly recommend that you invest in some high-quality tanks/camis to wear beneath tops/dresses.

T-Shirts-

I love them! I have I don’t know how many different plain colored t-shirts I own! Why? Well, because they are simply wonderful to layer, wear beneath things, wear with cardigans, and wear by themselves!  You can dress them up or dress them down!

Denim Skirts-

Denim skirts are perfect for summer! Most are light-weight and you can do almost anything in them!

Capris-

For us girls who do activities that you cannot wear skirts for then capris are a must! (hiking, biking, and more!)  If you are worried about them being too tight in your rear then wear a tunic style shirt instead of a t-shirt.

A Cool Summer Dress-

Dress- Shabby Apple

Invest in a cool modest summer dress. You won’t regret it! I have found cute yet modest summer dresses at Target, Walmart, Forever 21, Macys, JcPenny, Kohl’s,  and other stores!

Blouses-

After t-shirts my favorite type of shirt is a blouse. They are SO feminine and pretty! Plus, they are normally quite modest and perfect for summer!

Whatever you do this summer one of these items is sure to help you stay modest whilie being cool this summer!
